The half marathon is a competition for younger athletes and also a nice challenge for hobbyists. It is a short distance race suitable for everyone who has practiced any other sport or put on the skates a couple of times a week. Both the length and the difficulty of the half marathon are completely doable. The race takes place at the same time as the full marathon on a closed and guarded road. For safety there are no sharp turns or steep descents or climbs. The goal doesn't need to be winning the race, but skating at 20 km/h for an hour will surely work up a sweat.
